Design
Few oral care products look any different than the next.
Gum is gum, but this one is not like any of the rest.
We took inspiration from our collaborators in the U.S. Army and emulated the design of the most iconic shape known at the Department of Defense, the Pentagon, to make sure you knew which one possessed the added protection you need.
Why gum?
Our initial format was as an orally dissolvable tablet. When we sat down at the USAMRDC to introduce the active ingredient we developed at the beginning of the Covid pandemic, their first question was, 'can you put it in something we already give the warfighter?'
In every MRE is a piece of xylitol gum. Why reinvent the wheel when you can just make it better. We infused our molecule into an even higher quality pharmaceutical-grade sugar-free gum base.
Functionality
Our initial concept was based on developing the first pharma-grade ultra pure version of a well-known innate immune protein found in agriculture. In the oral cavity, it could eventually serve to limit long-term bacterial biofilm adhesion, reduce cavities and even limit the transmission of other pathogens.
Advanced Formulation
Pentagum uses an ultra-high quality pharma-grade gum base that is compressed without the use of heat to limit disruption of the active molecule. We add anhydrous caffeine to the AC version to limit the rapid on/off effects and unpleasant side effects of less expensive stimulants to assure attention to detail.
